Researchers' experience of publishing academic books open access

UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) supports and champions open research because open research enhances the quality, collaboration and impact of research.

UKRI commissioned Insights Media to develop case studies to help researchers learn from the experiences of authors who have published monographs and edited collections open access. The case studies share examples of opportunities, challenges, and lessons learnt. 

It is hoped the resources will help build the knowledge around open access publishing for academic books and inform researchers about the experiences of authors who published open access. We encourage the use of these resources to inform revision and future development of resources.
