McGann, C., Adema, J., Barnes, L., Bowie, S., Deville, J., & Steiner, T. (2025). An update: Copim’s thoughts on the changes announced at PubPub. Copim. https://doi.org/10.21428/785a6451.5a0013c6

On 17 July 2024, Knowledge Futures announced a new iteration of PubPub called PubPub Platform, which is set to replace the current version of PubPub (now called PubPub Legacy). Shortly afterwards, Copim published a response sharing thoughts and concerns. The Copim community is grateful to all those who contacted us about our response, and who shared their own experiences and worries about the changes at PubPub.

On 16 April 2025, Knowledge Futures announced an “updated timeline” for the changes  at PubPub. The new timeline pushes back the “final sunsetting” of PubPub Legacy from May 2025 to 9 January 2026. Knowledge Futures also shared further details about the new PubPub Platform. In this post, Copim will offer its thoughts on these updates, and outline plans for Copim’s own documentation site (currently hosted on PubPub).
