The post is full-time with a 6-year-contract in accordance with section 16 (2) no. 4 of the Hamburg University Law (HmbHG). Staffing is intended at 1st September, 2021 earliest.

THE PARTNER INSTITUTION
The ZBW – Leibniz Information Centre for Economics is a research-based information infrastructure for the economic sciences and a member of the Leibniz Association. The institute is one of the biggest of its kind in the world and has more than 4 million units of media. It also provides access to approx. 2.3 million full digital texts.
THE PROFESSORSHIP
As a joint appointment which is initially limited to 6 years, HAW Hamburg and the ZBW – Leibniz Information Centre for Economics are filling a full-time professorship in “Digital Publication Models and Markets”. The professorship will strengthen the scientific profile of the Department of Information as regards the digital transformation of the market for publications. The professorship will also provide research-based knowledge that supports the ZBW in the course of its development into a digital library. At the ZBW, the professorship is assigned to the special strategic category of “New paths for the provision of digital literature”.
YOUR ROLE
You will represent the teaching in the degree courses of “Library and Informati-on Management” (BA) and “Digital Transformation of Information and Media” (MA), totalling 9 semester hours per week, primarily on the topics of digital trends in the publication market, openness concepts, methods of empirical research, management and the configuration of the digital transformation. You will drive the digital transformation of the market for scientific publications and the processes of change in the field of scientific publications, especially with regard to business models and licensing models, as well as the open access transformation for scientific publications. You will also have the task of spreading knowledge in the ZBW.
YOUR PROFILE
You hold a university degree in economics, social sciences, information science or a related discipline. You also have a doctorate and several years of professional experience in an area of work which is relevant to the remit as well as experience relating to the publication market, and in this respect, the open access transformation in particular. You have experience of quantitative research in relation to the aforementioned remit. Good contacts in the information and media industry as well as knowledge of the library profession are desirable. You are willing and able to provide teaching in English. Other desirable attributes:
- A specialist focus on the analysis of publication models and markets in the economic sciences
- Experience of interdisciplinary research and collaboration
- Excellent teaching and communicative skills in the spreading of knowledge

INFORMATION
For appointment as a professor, as well as the general staff requirements, the appointment requirements in accordance with Section 15 Para. 1-6 of the Hamburg Higher Education Act (HmbHG) also apply. These can be read on our website.
This includes the willingness to participate in the self-administration committees of the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences as well as a choice of residence in proximity to the university.
The denomination of the vacant post is under the caveat of assessment at appropriate intervals in accordance with Section 12 Para 7 HmbHG.
