Award-winning academic publisher seeks outstanding Editorial Officer with excellent organisation and communication skills for remote role.

This remote working role offers a rare and exciting opportunity to become part of an outstanding team for an award-winning open-access academic publisher, The Open Library of Humanities.

Your main role will be to oversee editorial processes at the academic journals published by the Open Library of Humanities (OLH) and to provide technical support to our hosted clients. This will include liaising with external journals, editors, authors, and peer reviewers, and answering queries about editorial and production matters. The role will also require contact with external suppliers for typesetting and production services, copyediting and proofreading duties for the OLH journal and editorial assistance as required.

You will have the opportunity to work with academic staff, the editorial and management team at the Open Library of Humanities, and the technical staff at the organization.

In order to be successful in this role, you will be a highly productive and motivated individual with demonstrable knowledge of academic conventions and editorial processes, and will have a strong background in academic writing in the humanities. You will also possess the ability to use, or learn to use, a range of peer-review software systems, and to work collaboratively and supportively as part of a team. You will have the proven ability to work with a range of technological platforms and the ability to instruct others in using online manuscript management systems.

You will be expected to be an independent worker with outstanding problem-solving skills and a strong record of professional communications, ideally with a postgraduate degree in a humanities subject. You will have strong and proven communication skills and the ability to converse professionally with everyone that you encounter in this role.
