EAST: Enhancing Accessibility and Sustainability of “Teksty Drugie”

“Teksty Drugie” is the first Polish scientific periodical available on the international OpenEdition Journals platform, which is dedicated to electronic resources in the humanities and social sciences. The project was financed by OpenAIRE.

From January to June 2018, the Digital Humanities Centre of the Institute of Literary Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences (CHC IBL PAN), in cooperation with OpenEdition, has carried out the project EAST. Enhancing Accessibility and Sustainability of Teksty Drugie. Design and Implementation of a Sustainable Open-Access Business Model for Polish Journals in the Humanities. The project was financed by OpenAIRE in the frame of “Alternative Funding Mechanism for non-author fee based Open Access Publishing”. The project aimed to convert “Teksty Drugie”, bimensual published by The Publishing House of the Institute of Literary Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences, to open access. As a result, “Teksty Drugie”, as the first Polish scientific periodical, is from now on available in open access on the OpenEdition Journals platform.

In the frame of the project, guidelines for scientific editors aiming to convert their journals to open access, were published. They are downloadable here: Legal aspects of converting a scientific journal to an open access model. Guidelines for publishers.

More information on the EAST project is available at: OpenAIRE.
