Consultation Workshops on Research Assessment in the SSH: Invitation

OPERAS 2024-02-22

OPERAS is organising online consultation workshops this March to hear the perspectives and experiences of people involved in Social Sciences and Humanities research. They are part of the pilot led by OPERAS under the GraspOS Project dedicated to enhancing research assessment practices in the SSH thematic area. The goal is to establish a set of universal criteria that not only bolster responsible research assessment but also integrate the principles of Open Science.

Both who are on the evaluating end and have been evaluated in the SSH are welcome to participate. The aim is to dive deep into:

  • Balancing quantitative and qualitative criteria in research assessments;
  • Ensuring the responsible application of various indicators;
  • Discuss the diversity of research outputs (e.g. books) and activities (e.g. peer review) relevant to SSH for research assessment purposes;
  • Determining core values and priorities for SSH in the context of research assessment;
  • Exploring the role of digital platforms, tools, and services in supporting research assessment for SSH scholars.

Insights on these topics will contribute significantly to the project’s success. We are particularly interested in how digital innovations can streamline and enhance the assessment process for researchers in the SSH area.

If you are interested in participating, register your interest here. We are offering various time slots to verify the community’s availability. The form will remain open until a sufficient number of participants have registered.

We look forward to your valuable participation!
