CFP: The Librarian Parlor

dh+lib 2019-09-26

Launched in 2017 by a collaborative team of librarians, The Librarian Parlor “is a space for conversing, sharing expertise, and asking questions about the process of developing, pursuing, and publishing library research. In providing this space, we hope to help demystify the processes of Library and Information Science (LIS) research and develop community.” They are currently seeking writers to share their experiences that offer new perspectives representing the unique and diverse challenges and successes of LIS research across the varying positions in libraries. In particular, the editors would like to see the following topics:

  1. Perspectives about research from MLIS students, Digital Scholarship Librarians, Scholarly Communications Librarians, Public Library Workers, Technical Services Special Collections and Archives Library Workers

  2. Discussions about inequities in publishing and research

  3. Mid project reflections and reports

  4. Reflections on how research changes over the course of a career
