Digital Projects Coordinator, Library Faculty Position, Georgia State University, Atlanta Campus

Position and Responsibilities

The University Library welcomes applicants to lead the Library’s digitization program, including development, creation, description, maintenance, and preservation of unique digital collections. This position collaborates closely with our Special Collections & Archives department, as well as other Library departments and community partners as needed. This position manages a digitization team composed of both regular staff and student employees, and is an excellent opportunity for an individual considering a move into a supervisory role in libraries. The Digital Projects Coordinator is expected to seek grant funding for digitization projects for the library that address the research and services goals indicated in the Library’s strategic intentions. Training and support will be provided to librarians who may be new to grant writing and management. This position will serve as a member of the library faculty (12-month; non-tenure track), hold faculty rank, and is expected to participate in service and scholarly activities as outlined in the University Library’s faculty guidelines. Required Qualifications

• ALA-accredited Master’s degree in Library, Archival, or Information Science or relevant graduate degree in a related field
• Knowledge of digitization and metadata standards and practices
• Effective oral, written and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse library users and colleagues

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing digitization projects and processes
• Experience with CONTENTdm or other digital asset management systems
• Knowledge of digital preservation issues and standards
• Experience identifying grant funded opportunities and writing grant proposals

Salary and Rank Salary commensurate with the candidate’s education and experience. Appointment at faculty rank (Instructor/Assistant/Associate Professor) on a contract renewal basis.
