The National Archives are currently making digital records available on their website at no cost to registered users. Registration is free, and as long as they abide by the terms of fair use, users can add up to ten items at a time to their baskets, with a maximum of 50 items over 30 days.

Searches can be filtered to items that are only available for download to access “First and Second World War records, migration records, various legal records, and other documents; “a full list of digitised collections can be seen here, although please note that it includes collections available on other sites that may charge for access, and are not included in this offer.” This free access applies only to the digitized collections on their website.

On May 19 and June 16, the Archives are also hosting free webinars with their experts, which will include tips on getting the most out of their resources. Read their full announcement here, for additional information.
