Expression of Interest: National Library of Australia Fellowship Advisory Committee

Australian Academy of the Humanities 2025-06-24

The Australian Academy of the Humanities will nominate a Fellow to join the National Library of Australia Fellowships Advisory Committee, following the resignation of long-serving committee member, David Carter FAHA.

The Fellowships Advisory Committee assesses the Library’s Fellowships, which offer experienced researchers an opportunity to undertake deep and sustained research at the NLA using its collections.

Our nominee will join representatives on the committee from the Academy of Social Sciences in Australia, Asian Studies Association of Australia, Australian Academy of Science, Australian Society of Authors, Independent Scholars Association of Australia, and the NLA’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Research and Education Reference Group.

We warmly invite expressions of interest (EOI) from Fellows who are keen to support humanities scholarship and represent the Academy on this committee.

If you are interested, please send a brief (300 word) statement addressing your scholarly background, experience, and interest in the role.

An AAH selection committee will review EOIs, taking into account gender and cultural diversity, disciplinary representation, and geography. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Fellows of the Academy are strongly encouraged to nominate.

EOIs close on Monday 14 July and should be sent to the Executive Director, Inga Davis, directly via email to ExecDirector@humanities.org.au.
