Vale Dr Patricia Clarke OAM FAHA 1926 – 2026

Patricia was elected to the Academy in 2005 as a writer, historian, editor and former journalist, who wrote extensively on women in Australian history and the history of journalism. An authority on the history of the media, Patricia was a consultant to the Media Hall of Fame and a contributor to the Companion to the Australian Media.

In 2001, Patricia was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for services to Australian history.

We extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends and colleagues. She will be greatly missed.
