À la périphérie des chaînes

This call for papers invites contributions on the reception, transformation, and reuse of Byzantine biblical catenae beyond their traditional literary form. Focusing on works that stand at the boundaries of the catena genre, the workshop explores how exegetical compilations, homilies, florilegia, hymns, saints’ lives, and other texts rework patristic and catena material to create new forms of biblical interpretation. Particular attention will be given to so-called catena-commentaries, such as the commentary on the Psalms attributed to Peter of Laodikeia, as well as to the broader 'posterity' of catenae in Byzantine literature.
