At present, the whole country is fighting against the new coronavirus infection pneumonia outbreak. In the face of the country and even the world's eager expectations, China's medical and health science and technology field gathered the national elite, launched an urgent and full range of scientific research on epidemic prevention and control, virus pathology, clinical diagnosis and treatment, new drug development and others, trying to break through the key science and technology problems as soon as possible, completely overcome the epidemic, the relevant research results will be launched in the near future. This research is not only a particularly important scientific research subject facing China and the world medical and health circles, but also a severe test and challenge to China's medical and health scientific community. To timly publish the latest domestic and international research results and provide comprehensive and systematic scientific knowledge services for the national, global professionals and the public has become a major historical responsibility of China's medical and health science and technology journals and network communication platforms, and also an important opportunity for China's construction of world-class science and technology journals.

To this end, the Chinese Medical Association Journal, the Chinese Society of Preventive Medicine, the Chinese Physicians Association, the Chinese Pharmaceutical Society, the Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Chinese Academic Journal (CD-ROM) Electronic Journal Co., Ltd. jointly agreed to launch an initiative to mobilize the journals of the societies and the country's outstanding medical and health academic journals, especially those first issued on the internet, immediately take action to list "new coronavirus infection pneumonia" science and technology as a major topic and organize high-quality, high-level research results for OA (open access) publication on the China's National Knowledge Infrastructure network, use scientific research results to overcome the epidemic as soon as possible and spread these research results to the whole nation and accross the world. This special OA publishing and service costs are all borne by the China's National Knowledge Infrastructure.

The societies and the China's National Knowledge Infrastructure will jointly select outstanding periodicals to carry out the OA network premiere of this topic, participating periodicals should comply with the relevant rules and requirements of the State, the manuscript should comply with the scope and requirements of the selection of topics, the quality of publication should meet national standards."
