"We are pleased to announce the expansion of the mirrors.asnet.am service. We now have a new officially registered distribution, Rocky Linux distribution ( https://mirrors.rockylinux.org/mirrormanager/mirrors ). You probably know that RedHat suddenly decided to cut CentOS 8 support from 2029 to 2021 and replaced CentOS with CentOS Stream, which became a Fedora-like test "upstream" version instead of the previous "downstream" stable version. So, CentOS is no longer interesting for stable (production) use, and among free alternatives to Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Rocky Linux is one of the best. Rocky Linux is provided by Greg Kurtzer, one of the co-founders of CentOS, who has announced that he will start a new project again to achieve the original goals of CentOS (more here: https://en.wikipedia.org /wiki/Rocky_Linux & https://rockylinux.org ). The ASNET-AM Mirror service also provides the Armenian IT community with official "mirrors" of other important Linux versions, such as Ubuntu and Debian."
