What is the aim of the project?
3D Printing Industry (3DPI) is a global media company providing a dedicated resource for anyone interested in 3D printing and 3D scanning.
The mission of 3DPI is to report on and create original content centered around the latest developments in 3D printing and 3D scanning.
Their Media is also open to the community and external contributors willing to share their passion and insights into 3D printing and 3D scanning. It echoes the open source approach that has been so successful in the software industries over the last 30 years.
3DPI offers unique tools and services that help the community to benefit from huge 3D printing opportunities. A daily updated article shows the efforts of 3D specialists around the world to help during the COVID-19 pandemic.
How can 3DPI help me?
The European Association for Additive Manufacturing (CECIMO) is currently responding to a request from the European Commission. Members are being questioned whether they are able to aid in producing medical equipment for hospitals under pressure from the COVID-19 outbreak. Examples of such medical equipment include valves and ventilators.
How can I use 3DPI and what are its benefits?
If you would like to discuss or organize 3D printing projects to address the COVID-19 pandemic, join the 3D Printing Industry Discord server. A public crowd sourcing Google Sheet was set up to assemble makers from all four corners of the world who want to provide their 3D printing services for components such as oxygen valves or door handles. There is a submission form available for makers who would like to take part.
