Simpler Deployment: Another Step on Our Path to Delivering Customers the Best Endpoint Protection
FireEye Stories 2021-11-01
As more of our customers move to the cloud – or at least away from on-premise hardware – for everything from email to security, we have been investing heavily to deliver next-generation endpoint protection in 2017 that will simplify their security operations. Currently we are preparing for the anticipated release of our anti-virus replacement capabilities next quarter, but today we are excited to announce that we are planning to make our cloud and virtual form factors of FireEye Endpoint Security available in the beginning of Q3.
This anticipated release will mean our customers will have greater deployment flexibility, lower costs as they move to the cloud, and even more opportunity to simplify their security operations. So, whether you are looking for fully-managed cloud Endpoint Security, a virtual software version deployed in yours or someone else’s data center, or an on-premise version, we will have your needs covered.
You may be wondering why we are choosing to simultaneously support “legacy” technologies when everyone is moving to the cloud. The short answer is best said by Gartner: “SaaS is the first choice for only 16 percent of CIOs surveyed by Gartner in 2015 .”
We want our customers to simplify their security operations, which, as they conduct their cloud transitions, means giving them options so they can be strategic about when to bring their Endpoint Security to the cloud. The last thing we want to do is introduce another technology and more complexity that slows down their ability to go from alert to fix.
FireEye is the trusted partner that will help our customers transition to the cloud, especially as they look to take full advantage of the platform capabilities of FireEye Helix, which can simplify, integrate, and automate their security operations.
Additionally, our ability to deploy on-premise and at scale at the world’s largest organizations – something most of our competitors can’t do – allows us to generate intelligence and deploy protections to all our customers that our competitors will never see.
What does today’s announcement mean for you?
Most importantly, the anticipated July release will provide you flexibility to protect endpoints wherever they may be. For customers that may not have a dedicated data center to deploy a local appliance, or who are moving workloads to the cloud, you will be able to utilize the FireEye cloud instance with all the same features and capabilities, and take advantage of FireEye cloud access and management.
For customers with their own hardware in a dedicated data center, their own cloud environment, or a preferred cloud platform provider, the virtual form of Endpoint Security is for you.
Regardless of which form factor you choose, you get the next-generation endpoint detection and response capabilities FireEye pioneered, industry-leading FireEye iSIGHT Intelligence, and, soon, the anti-virus replacement capabilities you’ve been asking for.
