Summary:
Thank you for serving as the point person for your organization when it comes to #ShareTheMicInCyber! We appreciate your support, including those who’ve recently joined our efforts! We’re hoping that all supporting orgs will use their voices (on social media platforms and off) to support our upcoming October 22nd campaign. This shouldn’t take much time and will be relatively simple, but will have a huge impact on standing up against systemic racism in cyber. Please amplify/retweet #ShareTheMicInCyber or @ShareInCyber on Twitter (or LinkedIn) the day of the event or to share a sample tweet below:
- Follow along with #ShareTheMicInCyber as we join in celebrating #BlackCyberProfessionals during #CybersecurityAwarenessMonth. The theme of the 4th campaign is #PublicPrivatePartnerships-- grassroots orgs like @ShareInCyber can help operationalize policy by bringing people together!
- The next #ShareTheMicInCyber campaign, focused on #PublicPrivatePartnerships will take place all day on Friday October 22nd. Follow along as Cyber Allies share their platforms with #BlackCyberProfessionals. Like, retweet, and act! @ShareInCyber
- [insert org] is proud to celebrate #ShareTheMicInCyber by amplifying the voices of #BlackCyberProfessionals. We know how important #diversity is for #cybersecurity and we [insert an action here about hiring, or another institutional act your org has taken recently or is committed to taking — and we encourage you to sign the MakingSpace in Cyber pledge here]
- As @lzxdc shared in her @CISAgov #CISAsummit remarks, there is power in individual and collective action to combat systemic racism in cybersecurity. We’re proud to support #ShareTheMicInCyber
We have a lot of participants this round who’ve chosen Linkedin as their platform of choice, so please — follow the #ShareTheMicInCyber hashtag, and help amplify the content you see there. We also encourage organizational accounts to change their banner images and/or add #ShareTheMicInCyber to their online handles for the month. Really encouraging everyone to take an affirmative action this month, whether that's in hiring, digital skilling, or in building greater relationships — the time has never been better to act within your org. Finally, if you’d like to join #ShareTheMicInCyber for a conversation on October 22nd at 2:00pm ET — please let us know soon! We’ll be hosting a Twitter Spaces conversation (sponsored and shared by Twitter) on the importance of “focusing on the middle” and uplifting mid-career professionals in cyber. That conversation will center around what successful DEI initiatives look like, and we’d love to hear from your organizations during that conversation.
