Summary:
Abstract: "Open infrastructure is often discussed in terms of the organizations that run parts of it. But those reliant on it, directly and indirectly, have their own tales to tell. Interoperability from the participant point of view is a focus of this session in which librarian and publisher stakeholders talk with representatives from Dryad and Crossref about the hows, whys and occasional oddities of using multiple open infrastructure services on a daily basis and what it means in the larger context of their organizational goals. Attendees of this session should come away with an understanding of: What open infrastructure means in the context of scholarly communications and how it impacts the research ecosystem; How interoperability is served by open infrastructure; How resource-limited organizations decide on investing in open infrastructure; How collaboration is key to enhancing and securing the scholarly record through open infrastructure"
