Summary:
Many universally and conditionally important genes are genomically aggregated within clusters. Here, we introduce fai and zol, which together enable large-scale comparative analysis of different types of gene clusters and mobile-genetic elements, such as biosynthetic gene clusters (BGCs) or viruses.
