"The McLaughlin Library at the University of Guelph invites applications for a continuing appointment-track position at the Assistant or Associate Librarian level. The Team: The Research & Scholarship (R&S) team focuses on addressing the systemic issues in scholarly communication by challenging legacy processes in the exploration of new services, approaches, and initiatives. The team is comprised of librarians, professionals, and associates who provide expertise throughout the research and publishing lifecycle. As part of this team, the Research & Scholarship Librarian will actively contribute toward the team’s goals to: Develop services, participate in research, and provide expertise to support research and scholarly communication processes Collaboratively identify, develop, and implement sustainable services and infrastructure in support of open scholarship projects Develop an understanding of the research enterprise on campus and identify needs for support and collaboration Raise awareness of, enable, and advocate for transformation in scholarly communication The Position: Reporting to the Head of the R&S team, the Research & Scholarship Librarian will collaborate with members of the R&S team, other teams in the library (particularly Collections & Content), and units across campus to provide continued support for researcher needs around open publishing, especially as they pertain to the University of Guelph’s institutional repository (IR). The position will be responsible for providing support to members of the campus community through instruction, consultation, and outreach activities. Significant collaborators will include the Office of Research and the Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. Responsibilities for this position will include: Lead the development, advancement, and promotion of open collections in the IR Work collaboratively with stakeholders in the development of strategies to support the creation, discovery, and accessibility of open scholarship across campus..."
