Blog post from the Vernetzungs- und Kompetenzstelle Open Access Brandenburg  (Germany) about following the agreements with the publishers Wiley and Springer Nature in 2017, it did not seem certain for a long time that the DEAL project would also reach an agreement with Elsevier, the third dominant major commercial scientific publisher. After all, negotiations had been very tough since 2016. Some people were therefore somewhat surprised to hear in September of this year that, after seven years, an agreement had apparently been reached between the DEAL consortium and Elsevier.
