Summary:

"For the past several months, I have been working with Kim and Mike Fortun, along with several other researchers, to conceptualize a digital platform for sharing qualitative ethnographic research data.  Creating spaces to share any kind of data is a serious challenge.  Individuals from different disciplines have different values, different methods, different ways of perceiving data, and different ways of communicating data.  Collaboration requires creating and following standards, but over-standardizing runs the risk of conflating the nuances provided by each discipline.  Collaboration requires creating and enveloping within structures, but over-structuralizing runs the risk of jeopardizing the capacity to play with the data in interesting ways."
