On June 24, 2024, the Japan Consortium of Open Access Repository (JPCOAR) announced a revision to the Society Copyright Policy Database of Japan (SCPJ) that provides information on the copyright policies of journals published by Japanese academic societies.
The current SCPJ will be revised to comply with the new requirement for immediate Open Access (OA) to academic publications. The revisions include two main points: the organisation of data items for easier utilisation and a large-scale update of the copyright policy. The new SCPJ is scheduled to be officially released at the end of the 2024 fiscal year.
