"To celebrate International Open Access Week (19th-23rd October 2015) and to acknowledge the research output of professionals in the Irish health services, Lenus, the Irish Health Repository and the HSE's Open Access Advisory Group are pleased to announce the 2015 HSE Open Access Research Awards. The award is to encourage and reward open access publishing in the health sector in Ireland. To be eligible for the award you will need to: Be working for the HSE, on behalf of the HSE or in the Irish health system. Have published and made openly (freely) accessible a piece of published research within the last 24 months (Oct 2014-Oct 2015). Have published research which identifies a health service improvement. Open access to health information has been proven to increase citation, impact and can lead to the translation of research into better outcomes for patient care. The award will be a commissioned piece of glass and entries are now being accepted (online only) via www.lenus.ie. Closing date for receipt of entries is Friday 23rd October 2015. Successful applicants will be announced on December 11th, 2015. Full details of the award are available online ..."
