"Open Access Publishing is a method of publication of the material produced by research that allows free access without restrictions to any other researcher or, in a broader sense, the free online availability of digital content not covered by restrictions related to intellectual property of research results. For reasons easy to understand, open access is today a highly debated topic among academics, librarians, university administrators and politicians, with special regard to the issue of the economic remuneration and, more generally, to the business models to be adopted. The Institute for Research on Population and Social Policies (IRPPS) of the Italian National Research Council (CNR), in collaboration with the Office for Communication, Information and Public Relations of CNR, is organizing the workshop 'Open Access Publishing for the dissemination of scientific knowledge' that will be held on 9 December 2015 at IRPPS in Rome. The aim of the day, addressed to the entire Italian scientific community, is to offer an overview of the Italian and European initiatives on the theme of Open Access Publishing ..."
