Use the link to access the full text for a series of updates from SpringerOpen. “[1] Since its launch in 2010, the SpringerOpen portfolio has grown considerably to 88 journals covering all subject areas. Some of these journals already have Impact Factors. Among the latest additions are newly launched journals, including In Silico Pharmacology, as well as existing titles, such as the Critical Ultrasound Journal, that have transferred from the subscription-based to the open access model. We were also happy to announce some new society journals, the most recently launched being Integrating Materials and Manufacturing Innovation (IMMI), a journal affiliated with The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society (TMS)... [2] Altmetric is a new tool that measures the interest a published article receives online, resulting in a specific score, which is illustrated as a donut. The Altmetric donut has now been added to the ‘About’ page of those SpringerOpen articles that have been tracked by Altmetric. This supplements the existing article-level measures of impact, article accesses and citations. [3] In March this year, only two months after its launch, SpringerPlus started publishing its first articles. These articles cover different fields such as Computer Science, Medicine, and the Life Sciences, which underlines the journal's interdisciplinary character... The need for an OA journal on Cloud Computing seemed entirely appropriate, given the speed with which the topic had emerged into the mainstream...
