"Join us for the keynote opening address of Open Access Week. Drawing upon examples from the legal world and a cross-departmental University initiative to facilitate the creation and distribution of creative works, Brandon Weiner examines both the practical and existential obstacles encountered when implementing projects with strong Open Access principles.
Brandon Weiner, JD (U-M Law School), MA (Emory University) is the Executive Director for Creative Rights, a non-profit organization that provides free legal representation, educational opportunities and project coordination services for artists and creators throughout Michigan.
Light refreshments will be served.
U-M Library is hosting a series of Open Access Week events that highlight projects, research, and policies at the University of Michigan that allow the public to access and reuse the results of scholarly research online."
