Summary:

"Following UCSF faculty’s lead, the Academic Senate of the University of California adopted an Open Access Policy on July 24, 2013, ensuring that future scholarly articles authored by faculty at all 10 UC campuses will be made available to the public at no charge. Since 2012, UCSF faculty have been making use of a quick-and-easy form to generate addenda, waivers, and embargo forms for articles published with selected publishers. Now, faculty may begin depositing their scholarly articles in eScholarship (UC’s open access repository) using the new eScholarship deposit workflow. The improved workflow offers an efficient and intuitive submission process, making it easy for UCSF faculty to deposit their work in accordance with the policy. Faculty from UCSF, UC Irvine, and UCLA, should now begin depositing articles with a publication agreement signed after May 21, 2012 in eScholarship, according to the UC Academic Senate’s implementation plan.
