abernard102@gmail.com 2013-12-17

Summary:

"WebODF is a new open-source projet that allows ODF document files to be displayed within a web-browser. WebODF is used by the new OwnCloud release for its collaborative, web-based ODF file editing. WebODF is similar to PDF.js, the JavaScript library for rendering PDF files natively in the web-browser, but this project is of course all about supporting the Open Document Format. The WebODF Editor allows for modifying various elements of word documents, inserting images, adding/removing annotations, handling links, and making other common word document alterations. For those interested in the work being done to push ODF on the web, read this blog post by one of its developers, Aditya Bhatt. In case you missed it, ownCloud 6 was released last week and with the open-source private cloud software comes a wealth of new features and improvements."
