Summary:

"What's the challenge? To support data reuse and reproducible research, rOpenSci is happy to announce an open science challenge. If you can propose a research project (or enhance an existing effort) involving one or more of our packages, our team will provide you with all the support you'll need to complete and publish this effort. We will provide all the R related support, help getting your ๎ž  data and ๐Ÿ““ code into public repositories and producing a manuscript that anyone can easily reproduce. What you'll get โœ“ Timely support from the rOpenSci core team on rOpenSci packages to help you leverage data from the cloud into your next paper (or grant). We will also work with you to extend existing functionality or support new package development (within reason) if required by your project. โœ“ Help with documenting your efforts so it is easy for anyone to replicate your findings. โœ“ Outreach and promotion for your project through our website, on the figshare blog, the Open Science Federation, and social media (from all three). ๏˜‘, ๏˜“ What we ask in return โœ“ Acknowledge the rOpenSci project in your manuscript. โœ“ Share all your code on ๏™ฑ GitHub and figshare. โœ“ Write a blog post describing your open science experience (optional). How to apply Send us an email telling us a little bit about yourself, a short description of your proposed project, and which of our packages would be most helpful to your research. Applications must be received by January 31st, 2013. We'll announce our decisions soon after the deadline. We encourage informal queries and questions via email, twitter, or G+."
