Summary:

This summer, Project MUSE announced that it is developing its ability to host and distribute open access (OA) ebooks. This initiative, called MUSE Open, is supported by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation with more than $900,000 in funding. Project Muse’s announcement is a major development in monograph publishing generally and more specifically in the possibility of their shift to OA.
