The national repository infrastructure DABAR currently includes more than 140 repositories. Most of them are institutional repositories, but there are also the so-called collective repositories such as the National Repository of Graduation Theses, National Repository of MA theses and the repositories of four universities (University of Zagreb, University of Rijeka, JJ Strossmayer University of Osijek, University of Split).

The central search and browsing functionality makes it possible to search all digital objects stored in any repository in DABAR in one place. This increases the visibility of the content of individual repositories. At the same time, it is easier for other systems to automatically download metadata, because now the metadata of all institutions can be downloaded through a single OAI-PMH interface.

Also, repository policies that clearly explain the terms of use and content preservation to repository users have been defined. The repository policies rely on the optimal recommendations of OpenDOAR, policies of the Ruđer Bošković Institute (FULIR) and the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Zagreb (DARHIV), and policies generated using the RePol tool  (Repository Policy Generator) created as part of the NI4OS-Europe project .
