arχiv, the preprint server for the physical andmathematical sciences, is in its third decade ofoperation. As the flow of new, open accessresearch increases inexorably, the challengesto keep up with and discover research contentalso become greater. I will discuss the sta-tus and future of arχiv, and possibilities andplans to make more effective use of the re-search database to enhance ongoing researchefforts.
